Ib Niels Carl Glindemann Nielsen, born on September 27, 1934, in Copenhagen, Denmark, was a jazz musician. He is best known as the leader of the Ib Glindemann Orchestra, a big band inspired by the Stan Kenton Orchestra. Saxophonist Stan Getz frequently joined them as a guest star during his European tours. Glindemann's career began with the formation of his orchestra in 1963, leading to the release of Fontana Presenting Ib Glindemann & His Orchestra. Throughout his career, he released several notable albums, including The Man Who Wanted To Be Guilty / The Traitors (1991), and collaborated with various artists, including Robert Farnon and the DR Big Band. He passed away on April 5, 2019.
