Rookie of the Year, an indie rock/acoustic band from Fayetteville, North Carolina, was formed in 2005 by lead singer/songwriter Ryan Dunson. The group initially signed with Vice Verse Virtue Records and later One Eleven Records, releasing their debut album Having to Let Go in 2005. After expanding to a five-piece lineup, Rookie of the Year released The Goodnight Moon (2006), which garnered critical acclaim. In 2008, they released Sweet Attention under One Eleven Records, which peaked at number 11 on the U.S. Billboard Heatseekers chart and number 9 on Billboard's Alternative New Artist chart. Subsequent releases include the album The Most Beautiful (2010) and the EP Along for the Ride (2011). The band toured in celebration of the 10 year anniversary of Sweet Attention in 2018.
