John Stanley Livingstone Harris, born 9 November 1932 in Edinburgh, Scotland, was a composer, arranger, conductor and musical director whose career spanned pop rock and film music. After graduating from the Guildhall School of Music, Harris played trumpet with the Norman Burns band and later joined the beat group The Shubdubs, recording a Beatles cover album Beatlemania in 1964 that led to a worldwide tour with Jimmie Nicol. In 1965 he signed with Pye Records, arranging for Tony Hatch and producing for Petula Clark. His first solo studio album, Movements (1970), was released by Warner Bros. and featured the single "Footprints on the Moon"; it was reissued on CD in 2002 and 2015. Harris composed scores for British films such as Fragment of Fear (1970) and Man in the Wilderness (1971), and later worked in the United States with Paul Anka and Lynda Carter, contributing to the television series Wonder Woman (1978–1989). He released All to Bring You Morning (1973) and The Heart of Bart (1966) among other albums, and his single "Odyssey" (1980) appeared in the TV series Buck Rogers in the 25th Century and the video game Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas. Harris died on 20 March 2020 after a battle with lung cancer.
