The Razorblades, a German surf rock band from Wiesbaden, was founded in 2002 by lead guitarist Martin Schmidt, also known as Rob Razorblade. Influenced by third-wave surf bands like Slacktone and The Mermen, as well as Dick Dale, they developed an energetic style termed "21st Century Surf." Their debut album, Get Cut By, was released in 2003 on Surf Waves Records. In 2005, after a lineup change that included Daniel Wicke replacing Christoph Herder on bass, they released their second album, The Dark Side Of The Beach (2006). Notable releases include Gimme Some Noise! (2011), Snapshots From the Underground (2013), and New Songs for the Weird People (2016).
