Hawks were an American power pop ensemble from Fort Dodge established in 1979. The group consisted of the musicians Larry Adams, Dave Hearn, Kirk Kaufman, Dave Steen, and Frank Wiewel. They achieved professional recognition for a musical style characterized as power pop and rock. Their recording career began with the track “Right Away” (1981) which reached number 63 in the United States. They achieved professional recognition for the debut studio recording Hawks (1981). Their discography included the track “It's All Right, It's O.K.” (1981) which reached number 32 on the Billboard AOR chart. The ensemble achieved professional recognition for the studio recording 30 Seconds Over Otho (1982) and the track “(If We Just) Stick Together” (1982) which featured the musician Clarence Clemons. They achieved professional recognition for being inducted into the Iowa Rock and Roll Hall of Fame (2007). Their recording career included the compilation studio recording Perfect World Radio (2003). The ensemble became inactive in 1982.
