Will Morton is a North Carolina–born country artist whose music blends the honesty of late-’80s/’90s country with a rock-edged modern sensibility. Raised by a single mother and steeped in the sound of the Grand Ole Opry at his grandparents’ home, Morton spent years as a drummer in a metal band before turning full-time to country music. His songs draw on real-life experiences of addiction, redemption, marriage, fatherhood, and loss, earning him fans who say his music has told their stories in his words. Morton’s latest single, “Porch Light” (October 3) leads into The Long Way (November 7), a 10-song album two decades in the making that chronicles his journey home through universal themes of love, family, and resilience.
