Gerd Christian

Gerd Christian is a German singer born Gerd-Christian Biege on July 16, 1950, in Greifswald, DDR. He moved to Berlin in 1960 and received his professional singing certificate from the Friedrichshain Music School in 1973. Christian began his career as a soloist with Fritzens Dampferband before achieving professional recognition with the single "Sag ihr auch" (1979). The track sold more than one million copies and became a frequently covered DDR schlager song. His studio albums include Sag ihr auch (1979), Mien Boom steiht hier (1997), and Ich werde da sein (2003). He followed these with the albums Das Bild in meiner Hand (2005) and Tanz mit mir (2007). His recording career includes the singles "Ich werde da sein" (2003) and "Zähl nicht nur die Jahre" (2008). Christian has performed on television programs such as Ein Kessel Buntes and Bong. He collaborates with a production team including Andreas Goldmann and Heike Fransecky.
