Dodie Stevens, born Geraldine Ann Pasquale on February 17, 1946, in Chicago, Illinois, is an American singer. She began taking singing and dancing lessons at a young age and recorded her first song, "Merry-Go Merry-Go Round," at the age of eight under the name Geri Pace. In 1959, Stevens was given the stage name Dodie Stevens by Carl Burns and recorded "Pink Shoe Laces" for Crystalette Records. The song was picked up by Dot for national distribution and peaked at number 3 on the Billboard Hot 100, selling over one million copies and earning a gold disc. Following this success, she signed with Dot Records and released several singles including "Mairzy Doats," "No", and "Yes I'm Lonesome Tonight." Stevens also recorded three albums for the label: Dodie Stevens, Over the Rainbow, and Pink Shoe Laces. Throughout her career, she appeared in films such as Hound-Dog Man and Alakazam the Great. In 1969, under the name Geraldine Stevens, she charted with "Billy, I've Got to Go to Town." Later, she toured extensively as a backup singer for artists including Loretta Lynn and Boz Scaggs. Stevens has continued performing at concerts and teaching singing and stage performance in San Diego County.
