Consorzio Suonatori Indipendenti (CSI) was formed in 1992 by Giovanni Lindo Ferretti and Massimo Zamboni. The group emerged from the punk/art band CCCP Fedeli alla linea, with members including Gianni Maroccolo, Francesco Magnelli, Giorgio Canali, and Ginevra Di Marco. CSI's name reflected political changes following the fall of the Berlin Wall, referencing the Commonwealth of Independent States. They released their debut studio album Ko de mondo in 1994, along with the live albums Maciste contro tutti (1993) and In quiete (1994). Their subsequent albums included Linea Gotica (1996), Tabula Rasa Elettrificata (1997), and La terra, la guerra, una questione privata (1998). CSI officially disbanded in 2001, and afterward, the remaining members formed and continued as the new band Per Grazia Ricevuta (PGR).
