Erik Ypma, known professionally as DJ Dione, was born on December 27, 1970, in the Netherlands. He is a Dutch producer and disc jockey. He began his career as a disc jockey at the end of the 1980s, initially performing at a local youth center. He gained prominence through his popular hardcore radio show "Hakkûh" on New Dance Radio. He released his first tracks under the aliases Whousers and Kire Ampy before adopting the name DJ Dione. His breakthrough successes came with his involvement in ID&T events such as Thunderdome, Speedrazor, and Earthquake. He released the collaborative album Energy Overload in 2005. In 1999, he left ID&T to sign with Megarave Records. He continued to compose tracks, appearing on over fifty compilations. DJ Dione is part of the official Thunderdome Hall of Fame.
