South Korean singer Kim Young-sook, known professionally as Maya, was born on November 17, 1979, in South Korea. She debuted in 2003 with her first album Born To Do It, which included the hit single "Azalea". This marked the beginning of her career in K-ballad, Korean rock, and pop music. Maya's debut album was released on February 26, 2003, under Seoul Entertainment. The success of "Azalea" helped establish Maya as a notable figure in the South Korean music scene. She followed up with Rock Star in May 2004. Her subsequent albums included Road To Myself (2006) and Maya Four (2008). In addition to her music career, Maya also ventured into acting, appearing in television dramas such as Bodyguard (2003) and Family's Honor (2008), as well as the film What Is Natural? (2003). Her single "I'm Wavering" was released in 2011. Maya continued to release music throughout her career, including the albums MAYA STYLE and JAZZ A GOGO in 2014 and 2015, respectively.
