Expatriate, an Australian indie rock band from Sydney, was formed in 2005 by vocalist Ben King, drummer Cristo, keyboardist Damian Press, and bassist David Molland. The band released their debut EP Lovers le Strange in October 2005, which included the singles "The Spaces Between" and "Killer Kat". These tracks gained significant airplay on national radio stations like Triple J, leading to national tours and festival performances. Expatriate's first full-length album, In the Midst of This, was released in April 2007 and debuted at number 38 on the ARIA charts. Their second studio album, Hyper/Hearts, followed in July 2012.
