The Merrymakers, a Swedish music duo composed of Anders Hellgren and David Myhr, formed in the 1990s. The group initially gained traction with their early singles "Andrew's Store" / "It's Alright" / "I Need Something" / "Making History" (1992) and "Nobody There" / "I Won't Let You Down" (1993). Their debut album, No Sleep 'Til Famous, was released on October 9, 1995, under CNR Records. The duo followed up with their second album, Bubblegun, on January 26, 1998, via Virgin Records. Throughout their career, The Merrymakers collaborated with various artists, including Puffy AmiYumi, Dorian Gray, Yuko Yamaguchi, and Fujifabric. They also contributed to tribute albums such as Full Circle: A Tribute to Gene Clark (April 2000) and The New Sell Out (May 28, 2012). In March 2008, Anders Hellgren announced a new album project, but it was later shelved in favor of David Myhr's solo album, Soundshine, released in 2012. The Merrymakers have cited the Beatles, ABBA, and Depeche Mode as major musical influences.
