Carl Riseley, born on December 21, 1982, in Gold Coast, Australia, is a singer known for his work in jazz and pop music. He began playing the cornet at a young age before transitioning to the trumpet.
In 2007, Riseley auditioned for the fifth season of Australian Idol, securing a "wild card" entry after failing to progress into the top 12 based on viewer votes. He advanced to the top three and was signed by Mercury Australia. His debut album, The Rise, was released on April 26, 2008, debuting at number 5 on the ARIA Albums Chart. His second album, The Stillest Hour, was released on April 24, 2009, peaking at Number 1 on the ARIA Jazz & Blues Albums Chart.
