Depressive Age, a German thrash metal band from Berlin, was formed in 1985 as BLACKOUT in East Germany. After relocating to West Germany and renaming themselves Depressive Age in 1989, the band gained prominence post-reunification with their debut album First Depression (1992), which blended thrash metal with progressive rock and doom metal influences. Their subsequent albums, Lying in Wait (1993) and Symbols for the Blue Times (1994), marked significant milestones in their career, showcasing a shift towards more melodic sounds. The band experimented further on Electric Scum (1996), incorporating various styles and samples before changing their name to D-AGE. Depressive Age reformed in 2022, performing at major festivals like Wacken Open Air and Rock Hard Festival in 2023. In January 2026, the band signed a record deal with Fireflash Records and announced plans to release an album in early 2027.
