Swing Kids is an American post-hardcore group formed in San Diego in 1994. The ensemble was influenced by jazz and swing era ethics and released a self-titled 7-inch EP in 1994. This recording featured four original tracks and a cover of Joy Division's "Warsaw". The song "Blue Note" appeared at number 83 on the Vulture.com list of the 100 greatest emo songs. In 1995, the group released a split 10-inch EP with the band Spanakorzo. Swing Kids toured Europe before disbanding in 1997 due to the relocation of drummer Jose Palafox. The band briefly reunited in 2009 and 2011, performing as Blue Note during a 2011 European tour. In March 2025, the group performed at The Casbah in San Diego. The ensemble influenced bands such as Refused and Orchid. Guitarist Eric Allen committed suicide in 1998. Following his death, the remaining members performed benefit shows and released the 7-inch single "Situations On Mars" / "Fake Teeth" in 2011.
