La Trampa, a rock and hard rock band from Montevideo, Uruguay, was founded in 1990 by Garo Arakelian and Sergio Schellemberg. Their first performance took place in May 1991, followed by an early demo recording later that year. The band released their debut album Toca y Obliga in 1994, featuring songs such as “Dulces Tormentos” and “Arma de Doble Filo.” They gained popularity throughout the 1990s, performing at major festivals such as “Rock Acá” in 1997 and steadily building a strong national following. In 2002, they released Caída Libre, which included tracks like “Caída libre” and “Luna de marzo.” The band continued to evolve with albums such as Frente A Frente (2003) and El Mísero Espiral de Encanto (2008). La Trampa received numerous distinctions, including multiple Premios Graffiti awards for categories such as Best Album and Artist of the Year. After a major return to the stage in 2017 for their 25th anniversary celebrations, the band officially announced their dissolution in 2018.
