Kendall Josué Guido Méndez, known as DJ Kendo, was born on October 13, 1993, in San José, Costa Rica. He began his career as a DJ and producer in the reggae scene of Costa Rica in 2013. His breakthrough came with the release of "Jah First" featuring Million Stylez in July 2017, which marked his first international collaboration. In 2019, DJ Kendo produced several notable events including B-Day Bash Mixtape and released the single "Want This" with Jamaican dancehall artist Vershon. Early 2020 saw the release of "Whine Yuh Waist" featuring Eshconinco, followed by collaborations with Shadley on "Que Pasó?" in February and "Pa' Que Sudes". Later that year, he consolidated with the eight-track set 68+1 on his Goldstone imprint and followed with collaborations such as “Anytime” with Ziggi Recado and “Bésame” with Claye, sharpening a clean, melody-forward dancehall sound. He kept a singles-first pace through 2022–2024 with cuts like “Sin Censura” and “One Love” with BCA and DEEIKEL, while expanding his live footprint in Costa Rica and abroad. In 2025 he pivoted into multi-artist and riddim projects: the album HEY GYAL and the label showcase INFINITO RIDDIM (VOL.01) arrived alongside club-focused singles “F Y A H,” “FLING IT UP,” “BUBBLE AND RIDE,” and “ZIG ZAG,” marking one of his most prolific streaming years.
