Sarah Thorpe is a French-British jazz vocalist, composer and arranger, known for her moving blend of groove and emotion. Raised between Paris and Yorkshire, she studied philosophy while training at the Bill Evans Piano Academy in Paris with Sara Lazarus and later Michele Hendricks.
She has performed widely in Paris and London, sharing the stage with Alain Jean-Marie, Jason Marsalis, Hugo Lippi, Darryl Hall, Ronald Baker, Olivier Hutman and Talib Kibwe.
Her music weaves contemporary grooves with modern jazz standards, drawing inspiration from Roy Hargrove, Erykah Badu, Carmen Lundy and Abbey Lincoln. As a songwriter, she brings both honesty and freshness to her own works as well as to songs by Wayne Shorter, Bob Dylan and more.
Her upcoming album Secret Place (2025) is set for release soon, revealing a mature and deeply moving side of her artistry.
