Conan Neutron & the Secret Friends is an American rock band formed in Oakland, California in 2014 by vocalist/guitarist/songwriter Conan Neutron. The band was initially a vehicle for Neutron's songwriting and featured Melvins drummer Dale Crover and Tony Ash on bass. Their music was influenced by classic rock, noise rock, and post-punk, with live shows featuring a revolving cast of players. Their debut album The Enemy of Everyone was released in January 2015, produced by Toshi Kasai at the Sound of Sirens studio. In March 2016, they released their second album The Art of Murder, inspired by Thomas Harris' Hannibal Lecter series. Subsequent notable releases include the split singles series Protons and Electrons (2019) and the album Dark Passengers (2020). The band has toured extensively across the United States and Canada, with a significant appearance at No Coast Fest in Arlington, TX.
