Denis Colin, born on July 24, 1956 in Vanves, France, is a clarinetist and composer. He studied at the Versailles Conservatory before focusing on jazz. Colin directed the Institute for Artistic and Cultural Perception from 1979 to 1982 and taught jazz at the Montreuil-sous-Bois Conservatory. He collaborated with various artists, including Celestrial Communication Orchestra and Archie Shepp. In 1991, he formed a trio that later became Les Arpenteurs. Notable albums include Something in Common (2002), Subject to Change (2009), and Subject to Live (2011). Colin also composed music for theater and film, notably with Florence Miailhe. In 2014, he released Univers Nino, an homage to Nino Ferrer.
