The Happy Family, a post-punk band from Scotland, formed in 1981 by Nick Currie on vocals and guitar. They initially included Malcolm Ross on guitar, Dave Weddell on bass, and Paul Mason, and later expanded to include Ronnie Torrance on drums and Neill Martin on keyboards. Their debut EP, Puritans (1982), was released on 4AD Records, followed by their first album The Man on Your Street (1982). The Happy Family split in 1983 due to frustrations with record label indifference and poor sales. Some demos recorded during this period were later released as This Business of Living (1984) on Les Temps Modernes.
