Bell Orchestre, a Canadian instrumental band from Montreal, was formed in 1999 by multi-instrumentalist Richard Parry and violinist Sarah Neufeld. The group initially included Michael Feuerstack on steel guitar, Stefan Schneider on drums/percussion, Pietro Amato on French horn/electronics, and Kaveh Nabatian on trumpet/melodica. Bell Orchestre released their demo Bell Orchestre in 2002 and recorded their first album alongside Arcade Fire at the same studio where Arcade Fire recorded Funeral. The band's debut album, Recording a Tape the Colour of the Light, was released in 2005 after a delay due to Arcade Fire's rising popularity. In 2007, the album was nominated for Instrumental Album of the Year at the Juno Awards. Their second album, As Seen Through Windows (2009), won the same award in 2010. Bell Orchestre signed with Erased Tapes Records in 2020 and released their album House Music in 2021.
