Capitol K is the stage name of Kristian Craig Robinson, a Malta-born musician and producer based in London. He first gained prominence with the single “Pillow”, which reached number 99 on the UK Singles Chart in 2002. Robinson released the debut album Sounds of the Empire (1999) through the Planet Mu label, followed by the first release of Island Row in 2000. He later signed with XL Recordings and re-released Island Row (2002). In 2004 Robinson founded the Faith and Industry label, which has released his subsequent solo material including the albums Nomad Junk (2005), Andean Dub (2012), and Goatherder (2018). Robinson released his tenth album Artichoke in 2025. As a producer and engineer Robinson has worked with artists such as The Comet Is Coming, Ibibio Sound Machine, and Patrick Wolf. Between 2009 and 2015 he played bass and synthesizer for the Archie Bronson Outfit and co-produced their 2014 album Wild Crush.
