Son of Dork, a British pop-punk band formed in England in 2005 by James Bourne after the split of his previous band, Busted. The group was named after a scene from the 1990 film Problem Child. Their debut single "Ticket Outta Loserville" was released on November 7, 2005 and reached Number 3 on the UK Singles Chart. This was followed by their debut album Welcome to Loserville on November 28, 2005. The band's second single "Eddie's Song" peaked at Number 10 in January 2006. Son of Dork penned the song "We're Not Alone" for Ant and Dec's film Alien Autopsy, although it was never released as a single. In February 2007, they embarked on The Get Happy '07 Tour with Wheatus, Army of Freshmen, and Bowling for Soup. During this period, the band operated under Bourne’s self-created record company Sic Puppy Records and headlined The Sic Tour in March 2007. Although no official announcement was made, Son of Dork's split in 2007 was confirmed by Bourne in November 2020. Post-split, Bourne joined McBusted before rejoining Busted in 2015. Steve Rushton pursued a solo career, contributing to soundtracks for films such as Hannah Montana: The Movie and providing the theme song to The Suite Life on Deck. In 2009, James Bourne co-wrote the musical Loserville, based on Son of Dork's debut album, which opened in the West End in 2012.
