The BossHoss

Founded in Berlin in 2004, The BossHoss established themselves unexpectedly quickly as a country rock band in the German-speaking mainstream. After Sascha Vollmer, Alec Völkel and Michael Frick initially only performed in smaller clubs, a record deal with Universal Music beckoned in the same year the band was founded. With their first single "Hey Ya" (2005), a cover of OutKast, The BossHoss immediately reached number 41 in the German charts. The entire debut album Internashville Urban Hymns, which is released just a few weeks later, also features new interpretations of well-known rock and pop classics such as "Seven Nation Army" (original: The White Stripes) and "Eyes Without A Face" (original: Billy Idol). The reward: eleventh place in the German PL charts, including three gold records. With the successors Rodeo Radio (2006) and Stallion Battalion (2007), The BossHoss, whose eternal constants remain Vollmer and Völkel despite all the line-up changes over the years, succeeded in releasing their first platinum records. What's more, the band now found themselves in album hit lists beyond the German border for the first time. The hit "Don't Gimme That" even became the group's first number 1 single in Switzerland in 2011. It is also released on Liberty Action, The BossHoss' fifth studio album, which goes double platinum and becomes the country rockers' most successful long-player in Germany to date. In Austria, the record reaches the top 3 of the LP charts. After Flames of Fame (2013), which reached number 2 in the album charts in Germany, Vollmer, Völkel and Co. reached a commercial milestone: Dos Bros (2015), the title of which alludes to the long-standing coexistence of the two founding members, became the number 1 album in Germany and Austria. The two, who also became known to an even wider audience in the course of the 2010s through their role as judges on The Voice of Germany, released the best-of album The Very Best of Greatest Hits (2005-2017) in 2017, which reached number 20 in Germany. The next studio opus, Black Is Beautiful, followed in 2018 - and became The BossHoss' second album to secure pole position in Germany. In 2021, they discover collaborations with artists from other genres and feature MC Fitti ("What a Girl Likes") and the metal band Eskimo Callboy ("Hypa Hypa"). In 2023, the album Electric Horsemen (number 7 in Germany) and the EP Internashville Sessions are released at the same time. In mid-September, The BossHoss return with the album Back to the Boots. The album climbs to number 2 in Germany.
