Abundantly compared to Frank Ocean when his debut album The Revolution...And the Day After was released in 2015, California's Dales Anthony Doss aka Charles X is as much a rapper as a singer. At the age of thirteen, he opened for Bone Thugs-N-Harmony, having spent his childhood shelling out Tamla Motown records. In 2012, his single "My Cool" caused a stir in the Los Angeles rap underground. Moving to Albuquerque, New Mexico, for a time, it was in France that he found the ideal partner in beatmaker Redrum. Released in March 2015, The Revolution...And the Day After is a direct result of this encounter. Barely a year later, the young prodigy returns with a second album destined to make a big splash, Sounds of the Yesteryear.
