Kwanjit Sriprachan, born Kliaw Setkit on August 3, 1947, in Wang Nam Sap, Sriprachan District, Suphan Buri Province, Thailand, is a renowned Thai folk singer and National Artist in the Performing Arts (E-Saew) category. She began her career performing E-Saew songs, a traditional Thai folk style, and later became one of the four emblematic figures of Luk Thung music alongside Chaichana Boonachote, Chai Muengsingh, and Waiphot Phetsuphan. Sriprachan has been instrumental in preserving and promoting traditional Thai music, including forms such as pleng choi, pleng e-saew, laamtad, pleng songkreung, and pleng rua. She has lead an ensemble and hosted the Preservation Camp festival in Suphanburi, educating teachers and students about these traditional songs. As part of her efforts, she has adapted some lyrics and presentations to make them more accessible to younger audiences, ensuring that Thai folk music can thrive despite competition from modern and imported popular music.
