Pine Barons, originating from the wooded landscapes of southern New Jersey, is a band deeply rooted in the natural settings of their upbringing, where they first explored their musical talents. The band members started their journey by experimenting with various music styles such as punk, jazz, and experimental rock in their parents’ basements and around campfires. Their debut album, The Acchin Book was released in 2017, showcased a distinctive sound with unconventional instruments and techniques, such as using feathered paper, field recordings, accordion, string arrangements, and bowed guitars, creating a rich tapestry of moods and textures. Their second album, Mirage On The Meadow," was released in 2020 amidst the pandemic and marks a more introspective phase with all songs written, produced, and engineered by frontman Keith Abrams. The band's project, I LOVE FISH (2022) is a tribute album to the Japanese band Fishmans, influenced significantly by Abrams’ discovery of their music. This album includes lyrical English interpretations of Fishmans’ songs, facilitated by a Japanese-speaking friend, and features covers of complex tracks like the 30-minute "LONG SEASON." Pine Barons' lineup includes Keith Abrams, Brad Pulley, James Tierney, Alex Beebe, and Miles Young, who collectively bring a unique interpretation to the Fishmans' legacy, celebrating the universal power of music.
