Bluetree, a contemporary Christian band from Northern Ireland, was formed in 2004 at Christian Fellowship Church in Belfast. Their breakthrough came during a missions trip to Thailand, where they wrote "God of This City", inspired by local conditions. Bluetree recorded their debut album, Greater Things, at Windmill Lane Studios in Dublin and released it independently in September 2007. The album was later picked up by Fierce! Records for UK distribution in January 2008. In May 2009, the band launched Stand Out International, a charity aimed at rescuing children from the sex industry. Their second studio album, Kingdom, was released digitally in May 2012. Bluetree's lead singer and founder Aaron Boyd discontinued the Bluetree moniker in September 2017 and continued touring as a solo artist.
