Juan Carmona Carmona, known professionally as Juan Habichuela, was a Spanish flamenco guitarist born on August 12, 1933, in Granada. He began his artistic journey as a dancer before transitioning to the guitar under the tutelage of his father and the guitarist Ovejilla. His career took off when he moved to Madrid, performing in various flamenco venues alongside notable artists like Gracia del Sacromonte and Mario Maya. Habichuela's discography includes albums such as Pa Saber De Guitarra (2005), Una Guitarra En Granada (2007), Campo Del Príncipe (2008), De La Zambra Al Duende - Un Homenaje (2008), and Mi Alma A Solas (2014). He collaborated with prominent cantaores like Manolo Caracol, Juan Valderrama, Fosforito, José Menese, Rafael Farina, and Enrique Morente. Habichuela passed away on June 30, 2016. In 2017, a park in the Campamento neighborhood of Madrid was named in his honor.
