Stanfour was founded in 2004 on the North Sea island of Föhr. The band consists of the brothers Konstantin Rethwisch (vocals), Alexander Rethwisch (keyboards, vocals), Christian Lidsba (guitar), Heiko Fischer (guitar, vocals) and Paul Kaiser (drums). The live line-up also includes Daniel Stritzke (bass) and Christoph Spangenberg (keyboard). The band's genre is pop rock with influences from alternative rock and pop punk. The debut album Wild Life was released in February 2008 and achieved gold status in Germany. The debut single "Do It All" reaches number 46 in the German charts. With the radio single "For All Lovers" they secure 18 weeks in the charts and a large airplay presence. Other hits from the album are "Desperate" and "In Your Arms" (number 14 in Germany). The second album Rise & Fall followed in 2009, reaching number 9 in Germany with gold status for over 100,000 copies sold. The single "Wishing You Well" also lands in the Top 10 and goes gold. The song "Tired Again" appears on the soundtrack of Til Schweiger's film Zweiohrküken. The third album October Sky is released on May 11, 2012. The first single from it is called "Learning to Breathe". The fourth album IIII follows on August 28, 2015. In September 2016, Fireworks, a best-of album with a newly recorded title track and the single "Hearts Without A Home", is released. After a longer break - last performance in 2018 - the band celebrates its comeback in 2023/2024. The single "Guide Me Home" is released on March 22, 2024, followed by "Memories" later that year and "Stay" in 2025.
