Blümchen Blau was an Austrian band formed in 1981 in Vienna by Josef Fencs, Jakob Mundl, Götz Schrage, Wolfgang La, and Ernst "Tschuri" Hörmann. Their debut single "Flieger" marked their breakthrough moment, becoming a notable hit upon its release. In 1982, Blümchen Blau released their sole studio album Wie die Tiere, which was initially issued as an LP and later re-released on CD in 1994. The band also released additional singles including "Wir bauen ein Haus" (a collaboration with Waluliso), "Heimatlos", "Weihnachtsmann", and "Janis". Despite their initial success, Blümchen Blau disbanded in 1983 after just two years of activity. Some of their tracks were later featured on various compilation albums from the Flieger Flug series.
