Tarik Azzougarh, known as Cilvaringz, was born on January 29, 1979, in Dordrecht, South Holland. He is a Dutch-Moroccan rapper and record producer affiliated with the Wu-Tang Clan. In May 1997, Cilvaringz was discovered by Ol' Dirty Bastard and Method Man at a Wu-Tang concert in Amsterdam, where he impressed RZA with a live freestyle. This led to his signing with Wu-Tang Records in 1999 as the first non-American affiliate of the clan. Between 2002 and 2010, Cilvaringz toured globally as the opening act for various Wu-Tang members. His debut solo album I was released on April 9, 2007, through five different record labels around the world. In 2008, he conceptualized and produced Wu-Tang Clan's secret album "Once Upon a Time in Shaolin", which sold for a reported $2 million in May 2015 to Martin Shkreli.
