La Frontera, a Spanish rock group formed in 1984, emerged from Madrid's music scene during the decline of "la movida." The band was founded by Javier Andreu (vocals), Toni Marmota (bass), José Battaglio (drums), Quino Maqueda (guitar), and Rafa Hernández (guitar). They initially gained recognition by winning the Villa de Madrid festival in 1984 with their song "Duelo al sol". Their debut album, La Frontera, released in 1985, featured notable tracks like "La ley de la horca" and a cover of "Viva Las Vegas". The band's breakthrough came with La Rosa de los Vientos in 1989, which included hits like "El Límite" and "Nacido para volar". Despite lineup changes and periods of reduced activity, La Frontera remained active, releasing notable works like Tu revolución (2003). Their career spanned over three decades.
