Born on June 26, 1935 in Saint-Pierre, Martinique, David Martial is best known for his song "Célimène ". Originally a biguine singer, David Martial specialized in an exotic repertoire bordering on the parodic. His light-hearted songs extolled the real or supposed assets of the Antilles. Released in 1976, "Célimène " has become a veritable anthem for the end of banquets, with its unstoppable refrain "Cé, cé, cé...Célimène". The song appeared on the 1976 album Joséphine. Always dynamic, David Martial took part in the Âge Tendre et Tête de Bois tour in 2012.
