Michael Hornek, born October 5, 1977 in Hall in Tirol, Austria, is an Austrian jazz pianist and record producer. He started piano lessons at age five and studied classical piano as a young student at Konservatorium Innsbruck from 1992 to 1996, later shifting to jazz piano at the Konservatorium in Linz. Hornek joined Pro Brass as a keyboardist in 2000 and formed Yumag with Peter O’Mara, Patrick Scales, and Christian Lettner in 2006, releasing the album Live im Kongress. He produced Maria Bill's album Jung und schön in 2004. Hornek became a member of Soleil Bantu in 2008 and Klaus Doldingers Passport in 2009, contributing to Passport's album Doldinger, which reached platinum status in Germany. Notable collaborations include albums with Willi Landl.
