Marie-Ange Cerezuela, known professionally as Cerena, was born on June 20, 1981, in Bastia, Haute-Corse, France. She is a French singer-songwriter who began her musical journey at the age of fifteen, performing in the streets with her guitar and original compositions. Her breakthrough came when she met producer Orlando while playing for passersby; this encounter led to the release of her first single "Libre" in 2003. Cerena's career progressed with the release of her debut album La tête haute in November 2004, which included collaborations with notable artists such as Umberto Tozzi and Nek. The album featured songs like "Toi, tu" and "Tout, rien du tout", showcasing Cerena's distinctive vocal style. In 2006, a reissue of La tête haute compiled her early successes, including "Libre" and "Laura non c'è". Her subsequent EP in 2008, Cerena, marked a shift as she took on a more significant role in songwriting, collaborating with artists like Viviane Rabier and Axenn Raeyan. Cerena's music has taken her across France, performing in various venues including cabarets such as Le pied de la butte and La bolée.
