Eastern Conference Champions, an American indie rock band from Philadelphia and later based in Los Angeles, was formed in 2005 by Joshua Ostrander and Greg Lyons. They released their debut EP, The Southampton Collection, in 2006. The band signed with Geffen/Suretone Records and worked with producer Owen Morris to release their first full-length album, Ameritown, in 2007. Melissa Dougherty joined in 2009 following the departure of founding bassist Vern Zaborowski. Eastern Conference Champions gained significant attention when their rendition of "Don't Think Twice, It's All Right" was featured on the season finale of Gossip Girl on May 17, 2010. Their subsequent album, Speak-Ahh, was released in 2011 via RockHampton Records. The band disbanded in August 2015 following the release of their third album Love in Wartime.
