From classes at the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Paris to critical acclaim on record and in concert, David Grimal (b. 1973) has become France's new violin star in just a few years. His albums with the ensemble Les Dissonances, which he founded in 2004(Métamorphoses, 2007), and his collaboration with Georges Pludermacher(Reflection in 2006; Europa, 2008 and a joint tour) have enjoyed international acclaim. The violinist involved in various aspects of cultural policy is also the author of a Complete Beethoven String Quartets and the CD Les Quatre Saisons (2011) associating Antonio Vivaldi with Astor Piazzolla. In 2015, his complete Mozart Violin Concertos with Les Dissonances will be released on DVD.
