Ten Shekel Shirt was a Christian rock band based in New Haven, Connecticut. Founded by Lamont Hiebert in 2000, the group initially included Austin Morrison on drums and Tommy Lee on bass. The band's debut album Much was released independently in 2001, featuring the Number 1 song "Ocean" which gained significant attention and led to a signing with Integrity Music. In 2003, Ten Shekel Shirt released their second album Risk, but Hiebert paused his music career to focus on Love146, a charity he co-founded to combat child slavery and exploitation. After a hiatus, Hiebert re-launched his music career in 2008 with the release of Jubilee under Rounder Records. However, budget constraints led to the band parting ways with the label later that year.
