Maria Petrovna Maksakova Jr., born July 24, 1977 in Munich, is a Russian opera singer known for her roles as a mezzo-soprano. She began studying music at age three and enrolled in the Moscow Conservatory's Central Music School at six. In 1995, she graduated with honors and pursued singing at the Russian Gnesin Academy of Music. Maksakova won the Best Debut prize for Rosina in The Barber of Seville at the Moscow Opera Festival in 2000. She joined the Bolshoi Theatre as a guest soloist in 2003 and the Mariinsky Opera Company in 2011, performing roles such as Cherubino in Le nozze di Figaro and Dorabella in Così fan tutte. She released albums including Best Loved Arias (2009) and My Voice is for You (2010).
