Orlando Voorn has come a long way since emerging from nowhere to win the Dutch DMC DJ Championship in 1986, using records borrowed from his competitor. Not only was he the first European producer to release on the holy trinity of Detroit techno labels: Juan Atkins' Metroplex and Kevin Saunderson's KMS and Derrick May's Fragile. He went also collaborated with Blake Baxter as Ghetto Brothers and released pioneering early techno and house music under various monikers including Fix, Baruka, The Nighttripper and Format.
Orlando Voorn has never been one to rest on his laurels. His discography is like the proverbial rabbit hole, his production skills are beyond doubt and of the highest calibre. What really sets him really apart from the rest is his unbowed integrity and his deep understanding of dancefloor mechanics and their history. He is a true master of his craft.
