Lifetime, an American melodic hardcore band from New Brunswick, New Jersey, U.S., was formed in 1990 by singer Ari Katz and guitarist Dan Yemin. The band's roots lay in the New York/New Jersey hardcore scene, and they released their debut full-length album, Background (1993). In 1995, Lifetime achieved stability with the addition of Pete Martin (guitar), David Palaitis (bass), and Scott Golley (drums). Their second album, Hello Bastards (1995), marked a shift towards more melodic punk leanings. The band released their third full-length album, Jersey's Best Dancers (1997), before disbanding later that year. Lifetime reunited in 2005 and signed with Decaydance Records in 2006, releasing their self-titled fourth album, Lifetime (2007).
