Desiya was an American electronic music group fronted by DJ‑remixer‑producer Matthew Parkhouse, and featuring vocalist Melissa Yiannakou, later known as De Sa. The project emerged in the early 1990s, with its breakthrough single "Comin' on Strong" released in 1992 through Mute/ Elektra Records; the track topped the US Billboard Hot Dance Music/Club Play chart at Number 1 and reached number 74 on the UK Singles Chart in February 1992, supported by remixes from Tony Humphries, Larry Heard and Masters at Work. The group issued the album Comin On strong in 1991, consolidating their presence in the house‑music scene. Subsequent releases and collaborations with prominent DJs and producers further cemented their influence, although the group’s activity waned after the early 1990s.
