Will Liverman, born on May 10, 1988, is an American operatic baritone. He earned degrees from Wheaton College and The Juilliard School where he studied under Cynthia Hoffmann. Liverman gained significant recognition for his lead role in the 2021 production of Fire Shut Up in My Bones, marking the first opera by a Black composer performed at the Metropolitan Opera. He reprised this role in the 2022 Lyric Opera of Chicago production. One of his notable performances at the Metropolitan Opera includes his role as Malcolm X in X: The Life and Times of Malcolm X (2023) by Anthony Davis and Thulani Davis. His album Dreams of a New Day: Songs by Black Composers (2021), featuring pianist Paul Sanchez, reached Number 1 on Billboard's Traditional Classical Albums chart and was nominated for the Grammy Award for Best Classical Solo Vocal Album.
