Karibe con K, a Uruguayan musical group, was formed in Montevideo on May 11, 1989 by Eduardo Ribero. The band's unique blend of romantic salsa, pop, and parody created a cultural phenomenon that transformed Uruguayan music and nightlife. Their debut album Los Agentes del Sabor was released in 1989, followed by Sobredosis (1989). Subsequent albums include Amos del Futuro (1990), La Generación del 2001 (1990), and Dios los Cría... Vol.2 (1990). The band's impact was immediate, dominating Uruguayan radios and captivating a young audience with distinctive aesthetics and choreography. Karibe con K toured extensively, performing in the United States and Spain. Eduardo Ribero passed away on January 2, 2008. In 2011, the group released Klásico & Aktual, featuring classic tracks and new songs like "Una Vida de Pachanga" and "Alguna Vez".
