Kathy Joan Perkins, known professionally as Kat Perkins, was born on December 23, 1980, in Scranton, North Dakota. She is an American singer who began her musical journey at a young age, singing harmonies with her sister and taking piano lessons. Perkins' early career included performing professionally from the age of 15 and joining the Medora Musical in 1999. Her breakthrough moment came when she appeared on The Voice season 6 in 2014, advancing to the semi-finals under coach Adam Levine. Following her appearance on the show, Perkins released her first single, "Fearless," in August 2014, which reached number 5 on the iTunes rock chart and qualified for the first round of Grammy Award voting. In July 2015, she released her debut album, Kat Perkins. Since 2022, Perkins has been a backing vocalist for Kid Rock's Twisted Brown Trucker Band.
