Joy Lynn White, born Joy White on October 2 1961, in Bentonville, Arkansas, is an American country singer who was raised in Mishawaka, Indiana. After early performances on regional stages, she signed with Columbia Records in 1992 and released her debut album Between Midnight & Hindsight that same year, featuring the single "Cold Day in July", which gained attention from the Chicks (formerly the Dixie Chicks). In 1993, she received a nomination for Top New Female Vocalist at the Academy of Country Music Awards. White followed with the 1994 album Wild Love, which included the track "Tonight the Heartache's on Me" and was later covered by the Dixie Chicks. Her subsequent releases, Wild Love (1994) and The Lucky Few (1997) were distributed by Columbia and Little Dog/Mercury, respectively. White’s career highlights include charting singles in the early 1990s and a 30th‑anniversary interview in 2024, marking her continued influence in country music.
