Tammy Cochran, born January 30, 1972, in Austinburg, Ohio, is an American country music singer. Growing up, she was influenced by artists like Loretta Lynn and Barbara Mandrell, and began performing at her family's local church before forming her own band called "TC Country." Cochran moved to Nashville, Tennessee, in 1991, where she met songwriter Shane Decker, who helped her create demo tapes. In 2000, she signed with Epic Records Nashville and released her first single "If You Can." Although it did not reach the top 40, her third single "Angels in Waiting" peaked at number 9 on the Billboard country charts, leading to the release of her self-titled debut album Tammy Cochran in May 2001 which included the Top 20 single "I Cry." The video for "Angels in Waiting" won a Christian Country Music Award for 'Video of the Year.' Her second album, Life Happened, was released in October 2002. After being dropped by Epic Records in 2003, Cochran released her third album, Where I Am, on Shanachie Records in July 2007. In 2014, she starred in a musical show titled "One" at the Alabama Theatre in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina.
